Black, White, & Red

This week, I had a huge weight lifted off my shoulders as I finished a set of three matching lap size quilts for my neighbor. The quilts were made out of her old dresses from the 80's and 90's. Most of them were black, white, and red. They were larger than anything else I've ever quilted before, so they got a very simple, loose quilting design done on them. They are supposed to be Christmas presents for her daughters, so hopefully they like them!

Also, I quilted a black, white, and red runner that my mom made. It's kind of an abstract chevron design that she came up with. I'm thinking it also looks pretty Christmas-y in these fabrics. Maybe if I flipped it the other way it would look like a Christmas tree??

With this pretty swirling fabric, I decided to be a little more daring than usual and try a similar quilting design. This was definitely time consuming, so thank heavens it was just a runner.

Here's a close up of the back. Can you see the swirls a little bit better?

It's in the shop!
