Rocking Horse Baby Quilt

Remember these red-white-and-blue squares from the girls' reunion this summer?

For whatever reason, I just could not get inspired to make a patriotic quilt. I tried lost of different layouts for the half-square triangles and they looked great, but I just wasn't feeling it. So, I defaulted to my comfort zone and decided to make a baby quilt. I picked out the most "cowboy" looking blocks and asked Mom to applique a rocking horse on the bottom corner. She's much better at applique than I am. I free-motion quilted it with a loopy "lasso" looking stitch. What do you think?

I still have several squares leftover blocks for another project!
