Gray & Red Braid Baby Quilt

Here's another little number that my mom pieced and I quilted. She wanted to see if she could make a zig zag pattern using a traditional braid block method...and she did! The braid sections are pieced in log cabin fashion.

She also made matching burp cloths.

Monkey Baby Boy Quilt

Mom made this adorable quilt after an idea she saw in a quilt shop. I have no idea what the name of the pattern is or who it's by, but let me know if you do! It reminds me a lot of the "pop bead" gray and yellow quilt we did a few weeks ago. Anyway, this quilt has lots of fun fabric in it, including that adorable monkey print from Anne Kelle's Urban Zoologie line. Love it. She pieced. I quilted. That's how things have been going around here lately.

Oh, yeah. There's a monkey on the back.

Works In Progress

(Or maybe "Works Not In Progress" is a more appropriate title.) I've been feeling really slow around here lately. The projects are piling up and I need them to be done! My sewing closet is bursting at the seams, too. I think I need some more space...and I need the scary green camping jacket to find a new home...

A dear friend of mine asked me to make a quilt for her out of her old dresses from the 80's and 90's. Wow. I'm not going to lie, I had to try a few of them on before they got cut up. I originally had planned to do something slightly complicated with these fabrics but, because most of them are not cotton, I decided to go simple. Right now, I'm working up some plans for applique. Hmmm....

There's a pile of six baby quilts that need to be quilted. This one was chosen to do first. I love these fabrics. Nice choices, Mom.

And, I have another set of Denyse Schmidt's Quilting Quarters to work with. I'm making blocks inspired by this quilt from the amazing Heather Mulder Petersen. They are defnitley time consuming, but I love 'em.

Pop Beads Baby Girl Quilt

Freshly quilted! Mom designed and made this cute gray and yellow quilt and I quilted it for her. We decided to call this design "pop beads" because the elongated snowball blocks remind us of those bright pop bead toys from my childhood. I don't think you can get much trendier than gray and yellow right now, as far as nursery colors go, so we figured this would be a great addition to the shop.
